I have noticed that the new pre-order items (factions) and the Asian pre-order items are all max dmg items... why?

Didn't you hear? The game isn't about the items. It's about skill.

I always thought it was funny that they included items as any promotion, especially when the above line has been somewhat of an ANet mantra since around E3E.

That said, the pre-order items for the original are all trash. Well, at least my Ithas Bow was/is trash. Talk about dreams of grandeur being dashed!

Lol, well they do anyway for PvP, but if in PvE there was no moderately-leet-stuff-that-gives-no-particular-advantage to save for then wed gte bored reeeaaal quick

Had the original preorder items been max, then at game release someone would have had an advantage over someone else. When the Korean, japanese, etc items were added in, everyone had access to everything via pre-existing characters having the items and selling/giving them away to newbies. Therefore the new items being max was nolonger unbalancing to the game.

As opposed to the tons of unbalanced gold items that drakes were dropping right after release? Honestly, the req on my Ithas Bow was so high that by the time I met it I'd already found a better bow (from a drake).

Yep... and I like the skins on the bows the other folks got... and there was no US Mesmer preorder item to my knoweldge... that would have been nice.

ANET is trying to cater to the new territories to get them to adopt GW more readily. Those of us unfortunate enough to preorder in NA just got jipped as a result -_-

The US had the honor of being the experimental territory. What? You don't feel honored?

Europe would count as experimental except they got the Chimeric Prism which is, for all intents and purposes, a +energy shield.

What!? Did I read it right.. you want MAX damage over UNIQUE skin!? You must belong to the minority

Most people love the preorder items for the skin over weapon damage/mods... since MAX damage you can easily obtain it from the collectors... pretty much free.

Nah... I would really like both.... but the skin is more important than max dmg... but if you have a nice skin that is not max would you use it?

Right now they serve little or no practical purpose. I hope ANET takes pity and at least changes that much :<
